11th March 2005 Windsurfing: Golf Course Car park, Ynyslas Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: 18-20 knots Surf / Sea State: 2-3 foot messy surf Air Temperature: 7ºC Sea Temperature: 8ºC Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 26.7 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 35.2 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Perfect, went out at first with my new sputnik and a 5m sail but there wasn't enough for that so rigged my 5.7m and Mistral Heat and had a really nice cruise on that. scross the estuary and up towards Tywyn and then all the way back into Borth. There were some nice head high swells out the back to jump off and generally play around on. A few kiters then came out to play and after a while I eneded up blasting around in the lagoon. I then decided the sputnik would be good fun again wne back and got that and then had some speed runs in the lagoon. It felt pretty fast and it was fun to be sailing an old slalom board, but a little more wind would have made it faster. All in all about 5 hours on the beach in glorious sunshine.. In fact it was a little too hot out there in my winter suit and hood. |
